The Meinl Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum is made of high quality stainless steel. It has one main note in the center, plus eight notes around the circumference. These eight notes have two tabs each, with a different octave. This creates a stunning meditative handpan-like sound. There is a sound hole at the bottom, which can be closed with a silicone plug, to control the sound. Three silicone feet prevent the instrument from slipping. You can play the Steel Tongue Drum with mallets or with your hands, just place it on a flat surface or on your legs. The Meinl Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum includes two wooden beaters with rubber heads and a carrying case, with handle and zipper closure.
